The issue of kidnaping in Nigeria is becoming so rampart and frequent nowadays, virtually on daily basis, incidents of people missing all around has become a routine check in some parts of Nigeria. Children and sometimes adults often times falls victim of this kidnaping incidents, and this victims of kidnaping are always people of high state and wealthy families in ordeal to extort funds from them. So many people have falling victims of kidnaping probably because of failure of a task or as a result of punishment to a violator. At times the kidnaping of a thing is said to becoming a source of leaving and income to some individuals who end up kidnaping some wealthy folks and demanding huge ransoms from their families, and if eventually some families could not fulfil their ransom demand, this kidnapers would go as far as to selling their victims to ritual killers for huge amount of money collected. Cases and stories of some kidnapers been eventually captured and arrested, gave their confession about the kind of way they operates like syndicates.

On Tribune points weekly news updates, we gathered a story about an incident that happened recently about a man by name Mr. Rasheed Kolawole Olaiya, whom was kidnaped and was eventually killed on the basis that he supported his wife to refusing to release his son to his Islamic family members whom were demanding of their son to must attend an Islamic cleric school to become a Muslim cleric. He was married to one Mrs. Tinuke Patience Olaiya with two kids. We were told in our findings that, he (Rasheed Kolawole Olaiya) had an issue with his family members on the basis that he and his wife turned down the request of his family members whom they said demanded for their two children to must attend an Islamic school at all cost of which their original intention was for the boy to be trained to become one of the Islamic powerful spiritual healer, in which Mr Rasheed Kolawole Olaiya and wife believed that letting their children go for the Islamic Quranic school, it will deprive them of getting a western education. His wife Olaiya Patience Tinuke refused their ordeal because she claimed to have trained her children in a Christian way and she always takes them along with her to church of which the husband was in support of it and never was against it.

We further gathered that, his family began to foster more pressure on their demand for his son to must do as they requested, it was said that on a certain day when Mr. Rasheed Kolawole Olaiya wasn’t in town with his wife and kids, some men came claiming to be members of his family, demanding full custody of the children allegedly by the order and instructions of his father Alhaji Ganiyu Olaiya who happens to be a very powerful and influential Islamic spiritualist in a local town called Iragbiji in Iwo, Osun state. Eventually, the wife was attacked, beaten up and tied down when trying to stop the men about four of them who came to take the children away with them. She was rescued by some security guards around their house who came and untied her and she was later taken to a drug store for treatments from the bruises and wounds she sustained in the cause of the attack. When the husband came back and was told about all that had happened, he quickly made a report in the Nigerian police about that happened and that his children had been kidnaped but the police did nothing to investigate on the incident he reported.

We were told more from our findings that, after about four days when the children had been taken away, they got some strange calls demanding for a ransom of 50,000,000naira for the release of their children of which they later accepted 20, 000,000naira for the release of the children after so much plea and negotiations. They later traveled out of the country on a vacation trip, the wife and children had to stay back to be secure safety for her and the children away from his family members whom are demanding for their children to must attend an Islamic school, he then later came back to Nigeria alone. On getting back to Nigeria, we were told that he was kidnaped also by some men on the instruction of his father because he supported his wife on refusing to release their children to them. All effort put together by his friends to get him released out of the custody of those who had him kidnaped proved abortive and even the law enforcement could not do anything about the situation.

After some much plead and efforts made by his own mother to his father, he was released and threatened to make sure he produce his two children for them to undergo the Islamic training as a Muslim spiritual healer he (the father) wanted them to do. It was said that Mr. Rasheed Kolawole Olaiya was kidnaped again, just after he met his death under their custody of much torture and beaten up by the men who kidnaped him, our reporters gathered that, he gave up the ghost when he could no longer bear the much persecution, and torture he received. His body was later found dead by the road side on the 2nd of June 2019. His body was later taken and deposited to the mortuary.
