Man sets in-law’s house ablaze in Jigawa

On the 6th of September 2019 a young man known as Olanrewaju Fatai Awoyemi was brutally killed by some men who were believed to be occultic group. The reason for the attack was not ascertained as the young man was believed to be easy going and does not have any involvement with any occultic group, he was attack in his lodge with machete’s, sustained a lot of cuts and some part of his body was removed.

Olanrewaju was a student of the Obabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) in the department of Art and Culture. He was a member of the Islamic fellowship in school, he was believed to be a devoted member of the fellowship and will not have been involved with any occultic group. But one of the witness to the incidence stated that it was said by the men who attacked him that he has been chosen for a sacrifice which still remains a mystery.

Speaking with Habeeb the roommate of the desisted, he told our reporter that, he was at home on the day of the attack when the men came in as visitors, he gave details of the attack saying “ I was in the house with my friend Fatai, around 8pm when four elderly men came to the house, they told us they were from Fatai’s home town and they were sent to him by his father, so Fatai went with them out of the house to receive the message they brought for him. Not long one of our neighbour rush in to tell me that fatai has been killed, I was so shocked, it was very difficult for me to believe that could happen, because fatai has never had any problem with anybody. So I quickly ran out to the sense of his attack, he was killed in a narrow quiet road that lead to our house, his was cut all over and some part of his body were missing” he also added that “some people who heard Fatai while he was been attacked said he was screaming and shouting begging for his life but the men were not ready to listen and according to them they said they heard the men saying he has been chosen for a sacrifice and he has to be killed”

The police arrive at the sense of the attack but the men were long gone and no one could give any detail of there were about, the police promised to continue the investigation on the case and fetch out the perpetrators.
