Honourable Adedapo Akin Oyewumi was a political local government chairman aspirant, a contestant for Ifetedo south local government area chairman. He was a politician with a difference, he has service for humanity, hardworking and selfless. He was born in the year 1960 August 7 into the family of Mr. Gabriel Asiyanbi Adedapo and Mrs. Remilekun Adegoke Adedapo at No 2, Agboile Ayesanmi, ifetedo. His both parents were native of ife south local government, Ifetedo Osun State of Nigeria. He attended primary education known then as (Standard education) in AUD grammar school Ifetedo between the year 1969 and 1975, and secondary education known as (Form education) in Oshogbo grammar School in the year 1977 to 1983.

His flare and desire for politics was as a result of his father whom was a grass root politician during the Action group days after the Nigerian Independence, his father’s activeness, selflessness, dedication, hardwork and selflessness gave him (Honorable Adedapo Akin Oyewumi) a very great edge to doing well enough in his own days into politics. He started his political ambition right from his tertiary education days where he contested and won so many post back then in his university education days up to been the school SUG President. After he left school, he fully joined a political party UPN, after a while he later on moved to APC in 2006 , where he was nominated to context for the position of a councillor at his constituency which he won in 2007 elections. During his tenure in office, he worked hard and selflessly to making sure everything necessity was in place in the constituency and community, this made him became more popular and loved by all in the community that they elected him for the second term in office in 2011 which he did extremely great and complied his terms with good records in 2015. He later eventually moved to PDP due to some rancors and disagreements in the APC party in their constituency for some reasons. When he joined the PDP party, with his good heart of service to humanity and good records, everyone he met in the party showed him love and acceptance with good faith that he can fit in to any post. At a point in time after he joined the party, he was being nominated and considered for contesting for the next local government chairman in their constituency which they did a massive early campaign where almost everyone in the community gave in their interest and support to vote for him as a result of his good records during his councillorship days in office.
On the other hand, the opposition parties especially the then ruling party APC members became frightened about his acceptance by all the people knowing fully well that he would win at all cost. They began to see him as a big opponent to defeat and win in the coming elections, so they started putting up a plan to bring him down off the line inorder to have their party way to wining the local government chairmanship election.
