News update reaching Tribunepoint Weekly reporters about a serious action crime committed by some Fulani’s herdsmen who invaded and caused destruction to a farm land containing maize and cassava plantations on the farm land which belonging to one Mrs. Olaide Abayomi Kareem
The farmland which was located at Saanu village, Moniya Ibadan area of Oyo state was invaded by some Fulani’s herdsmen with their cattles and ate up the maize and cassava crops plantation on the farm.
It was gather by Tribunepoint Weekly correspondents that this Fulani’s herdsmen came the first time to cause destruction on the farm which the case was reported to the nearest police, and while the investigation to arrest them was still on going, these said Fulani’s herdsmen still came and made a repeat of the crime action which was on 4th November, 2017.
According to findings, the Fulani’s herdsmen men cattles headed to drink up the water in the farm fish pond, and when the security guards guiding the Ola Farms Ltd tried to stop them, the two securities were brutally attacked and injured badly together with another man identified as the wife to the owner of the farm Mr. Babatunde Adebayo identifies as the husband of the owner of the farm was also injured in the cause of the attack but managed to escape.
The two security guards by name Bankole Lawal due to the attacked was confirmed eventually died after few hours of rushing them to the hospital and the other whom also later died some weeks after due to severe injury he had and couldn’t make it through the treatments given by the hospital.
Our reporters gathered that investigations and arrest of some Fulani’s herdsmen were made by the police on the attack of Ola Farms Ltd.
Luckily about four FULANI herdsmen were arrested and detained.
Research proved that Mrs. Olaide Abayomi Kareem the owner of the Ola Farms was invited to make a vivid identification on their parade arrest of the Fulani’s herdsmen arrested, but reportedly again that she claimed of been receiving some unanimous calls from some Fulani groups making threats to kill her if she persist to going to the police station and making a report of them and identification on their parade.
Nevertheless, all efforts made to foster Mrs. Olaide Abayomi Kareem to recognize among the arrested fulani herdsmen proved abortive as she could not identify anyone of them as among the Fulani’s herdsmen that came to attack her farm and workers with her husband due to fear of the the severe attack and damage with killings done by the Fulani’s herdsmen to her farm, husband and workers.
After about sometime, Mrs. Olaide Abayomi Kareem received threats to her life from this same suspected Fulani herdsmen group threatening to deal with her and wipe out all her family because she constituted to the arrest of some of them by the police and made some of their brothers suffer in police custody, so for this reason they threatened to deal with her at all cost.
Research found that, the threat message got her more frightened and scared for her life safety that she had no choice other than to run for her dear life and family while these Fulani’s herdsmen were still said to be on her trail and after her to catch up on her.
