The Senate on Tuesday got President Muhammadu Buhari’s solicitation for the affirmation of Professor Jumai Audi, as the administrator of the Nigerian Law Reform Commission (NLRC)

Others names are Hon. Ebele Bernard Chima, Commissioner, South East; Barr. Bassey Dan Abia, Commissioner, South-South; and Hon. Mohammed Ibraheem, Commissioner, South-West.

Buhari said his solicitation was in consistence with the arrangement of segment 2(2) of the NLRC in Law Reform Commission Act No. 7.

The Senate additionally got a solicitation from the president for the affirmation of Diana Okonta (South-South); and Ya’ana Talib Yaro (North-East) as Non-Executive Directors of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

The arrangement was done in consistence with the arrangement of segment 5(2)(4) of the NDIC Act.

Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi, moved a movement depending on hand 1(b) of the senate standing standards for the upper chamber.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, bothered the requirement for the upper chamber to “quick track the procedure” to empower boards of trustees to screen the candidates.

He alluded the affirmation solicitation to the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Financial Institutions.

The Committee is led by Senator Uba Sani (APC – Kaduna Central).
