The total number of active COVID-19 cases in Nigeria has risen to 12,984.

This is following the confirmation of 179 new cases in the country by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

NCDC made the confirmation on Tuesday night while giving updates on daily cases via its official website.

The development brings the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 161,074, with 2,018 deaths, while no fewer than 146,072 patients have been successfully treated and discharged.
