The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has claimed of plots by pundits to strain her relationship with Governor Nyesom Wike.

Banigo, in an announcement by her Press Officer, Owupele Benebo in Port Harcourt, requested that pundits quit causing disappointment among her and Wike.

The Deputy Governor said Wike had performed well in the battle against COVID-19 in the State, including that mumbles that she had been sidelined was false.

She included that there was a cheerful connection among herself and the Governor, cautioning that nobody ought to occupy the State with such bits of gossip.

“The consideration of the Office of the Deputy Governor of Rivers State is attracted to a Press Statement, titled ‘COVID-19: Stop sidelining your appointee, she’s a Public Health Professional’ gave by a gathering called Center for Public Trust on Sunday, seventeenth May, 2020.

“In as much as the Office of the Deputy Governor would not have any desire to get gives together with the said bunch since remark is free, it is imperative to sort the records out so right thinking individuals about the general public would not be misdirected into accepting this misrepresentation.

“We might want to state completely, that there is no bit of legitimacy about Governor Wike’s claimed sidelining of his Deputy, Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo as respects COVID-19 or without a doubt any Program or Policy of the State Government, she has kept on getting a charge out of a welcoming and vigorous relationship with the affable and sexual orientation agreeable Governor of Rivers State, Chief Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, POS Africa and the Pride of Rivers State, from the beginning of this Administration in May, 2015 to date, so the indicated sideling of his Deputy is a unimportant fabrication of the Imagination of the Group.

“Clearly, the Group, Center for Public Trust isn’t happy with the way that the State Chief Executive, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and without a doubt all individuals from Team are submitted and progressing in the direction of the realization of the new Rivers vision; this is the reason they need to cause a break between the Governor and his Deputy. Please they should look somewhere else.

“Truly, the Deputy Governor is a Public Health Physician, however it is in fact extremely uncharitable to intimate that Governor Wike would be envious of his Deputy, when he has great accreditations himself, as a Legal Luminary and a Life Bencher, a double cross Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Area, a previous Chief of Staff Government House, a previous Minister of State Education, previous Supervisory Minister of Education and a Second Tenure Governor of Rivers State.

“COVID-19 is genuine and it has guaranteed loads of lives over the globe, Governor Wike has kept on showing initiative in the Country in the battle against COVID 19, which has been imitated by different States of the Federation and the Federal Government, obviously he is the principal Governor in Nigeria to close his outskirts, which pioneered the path for others to follow.

“These changes about Governor Wike and his Deputy concerning COVID-19 is completely superfluous, on the grounds that the Governor himself eliminated any confusion air in a Live Television Program that his Deputy has been contributing her share in the mission to stem the COVID-19 invasion or do they need the Governor to take the secondary lounge in this war?

“We are in a State of war with an inconspicuous adversary, COVID-19, rather than the Purported Center for Public Trust to unite with Governor Wike and his group to lessen the commonness pace of the executioner infection in our State, they are wading into controversy.

“Our recommendation to them is basic, don’t cry more than the dispossessed and kindly don’t attempt to be more Catholic than the Pope. Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo is fine and is completely dedicated and faithful to His Excellency, Chief Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, POS Africa the Pride and Governor of Rivers State in his mission to ensure the Rivers People against COVID-19, his system is working. Try not to divert him,” Banigo said.
