Muhammad Zulfarau Alfa, a 32-year-old resident of Dangora in Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State has been arrested for allegedly rapping 40 women within one year.

Tribunepoint WEEKLY reports that the Police Spokesman in Kano, DSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the arrest on Wednesday.

”It is true. We have him in our custody. We are parading him soon

“People of Dangora are so happy for the arrest of the criminal,” he said.

Haruna explained that the suspect was arrested on 10 June, at about 2:00 a.m. when he trespassed into a house at Kwanan Dangora Town in Kano, with intent to commit the heinous crime.

According to him, the suspect popularly known as “Mai Siket” have been trespassing into homes to have carnal knowledge of the victims for a long time.

He, however, noted that some of the victims referred to the suspects as an ‘evil spirit’.

He said: “The suspect trespassed into a house at Kwanan Dangora town, and entered the children’s bedroom, in the process the mother of the kids caught him and alerted the neighbours.

“The suspect ran away but was caught by neighbours and handed over to the police.”

Haruna said that in the course of the investigation, the suspect admitted raping over 40 women in the past year, adding that some of the victims included children and an 80-year-old woman.

The spokesman said the Command had started receiving complaints from the victims raped by the suspect.

He said that Mr Habu Ahmad, the State’s Commissioner of Police had ordered the suspect to be transferred to the State Criminal Intelligence Department (SCID) for investigation.

Haruna, however, said that the suspect would be charged to court after investigations.
