Early on a Tuesday 17th August 2019 morning, a report reaching our Tribunepoints weekly of an attack that strokes the previous day evening 16th August 2019 to a family of four, the father, mother and their children at 17, Akoka Ijesha-tedo Surulere Lagos by exactly 7:00pm. According to the neighbors around where the incident occurred spoke to our correspondence said that, “on that evening the incident happened, we were outside the gate compound together with Mr. Lucky Achila the father of the house that the incident happened when some five men with an elderly man came to see him of which he recognized them as men from his home town.
They all went inside probably on discussion”. He said further that little did they knew that the men came for an ulterior motive. Another speaking to us said, after awhile, they were not hearing any further since they gone inside, not long they began to overheard scream from Mr. Lucky Achila’s house, immediately they got up and go into the gate compound to see what was happening, on getting there they found out that the men who came to visit them had disappeared and leaving the family injured with one of the children unconscious, what happened to them they do not know at that instance untill they were rushed to the hospital for quick treatments. He said “when we rushed Lucky Achila and family to the hospital that night around 10pm for treatment after the incident that befall them, there was where Lucky could talk and told us what transpired between them and the visitors from his home town”.
According to him he said, Mr. lucky told them that, those men came and requesting for the whereabout of one Mr. Charles Onyema whom they were friends and brothers of the same home town. He said further that the men asked him for his (Charles Onyema) hideouts which he told them he knew nothing about as they claimed he had come to his place when he left his previous location. According to him saying, “when I was trying to explain to them, I had not seen Charles for a long time, they shouted on me to keep quiet and brought out an object like a stone wrapped with red pieces of cloths and attacked us with it.
They dealt with us mercilessly that we couldn’t scream nor shout until one of my kids fainted and became unconscious before they left. It was after they left we were able to scream and shout that our neighbours came and rescued us to rush us to the hospital for treatments”.
