On a cold evening hour dated 13th December 2018 at about 6:00pm, Some hoodlums busted into the home of Babatunde Bakare at No 54, Okunola Street, Arikawe, Ikorodu Lagos. The deceased who lives together with his younger sibling Olatunji Bakare until he (Babatunde Bakare) met his death through the attack that evening by these said hoodlums who came into the house to attack him. It was gathered by our reporters that few hours before the incident, Babatunde had sent his younger brother Olatunji on an errand to get somethings for cooking which he did went and came back into the kitchen to get things done for them to eat that evening before going to bed.

Suddenly, Olatunji said to Tribunepoints weekly reporters that she overheard the voices of the gang of men about four of them that came into their house and began to demand asking from his brother (Late Babatunde) about the where about of their Uncle by name Bakare Olusola Jimoh who was a political aspirant for house of assembly sometimes ago. According to Olatunji speaking to our reporters, he further buttressed that it was when they were asking him (Late Babatunde) too many question on what he told them over and over that he knew nothing about their uncle’s where about and that he did not come to the house at all, they did not believed what he was saying until he was knock down by hitting a weapon on his head which he fell down in pain and began to scream. On hearing and seeing what had happened from where he (Olatunji) was hiding, Olatunji said he quickly took to his hills and ran out of the house through the back door in order to get help from neighbours, but before he could come back to the house, the deed had been done to Babatunde, he got back and met Babatunde lifeless on the ground with bruises all over his body which was as a result of how the hoodlums dealt and tortured him until he gave up the ghost.

On getting to the scene of the incident, our correspondents were able to gather more reports from eye witnessed of what happened which they got from a neighbour (name withheld) he disclosed that, they were in their home that evening when Olatunji ran and came knocking on their door screaming and shouting for help that some men are in their house attacking his late brother Babatunde, immediately we alerted the Police and followed him down to the house but on getting there, they found Babatunde’s body murdered already.

More light to the incident was shed by an eye witnesses (name withheld) in the compound and who knew the deceased very well said, he was in his own apartment that faithful evening when he began to overhear some noise of argument that later resulted to struggling inside the house, not knowing that the deceased was been tortured and beaten up in his apartment. He further said that, for a while after the noise of him screaming and all, there was a sudden silence and from his apartment he saw the hoodlums about 4 of them walking out of the house. It was when Olatunji ran back to the house they were able to go check inside and found Babatunde’s body lifeless on the floor. The case had been reported to the Nigerian police force Alapere Division Ikorodu Lagos and further investigations are ongoing to know the reasons behind why these evil perpetrators came looking for the said Bakare Jimoh and also to bring them all to book (arrest). The reasons for their actions would be published as soon as possible when gotten as for now no one knows yet what could have been the reason of the incident that led to Babatunde Bakare’s death.
